What is Qlucore Omics Explorer?
Qlucore Omics Explorer (OE) is a powerful interactive analysis and visualization application for the exploration of multivariate data sets such as gene expression, protein array or miRNA data. OE helps you uncover hidden structures and find patterns in large data sets, taking full advantage of all annotations and other links that are connected with your data. The user interface of OE displays all data sets in 3D in order to allow you to visualize them and interactively work with them in real-time directly on the computer screen. All responses are immediate and the analysis can be performed in an instant. OE includes a number of powerful statistical tools to filter and select variables to enhance the analysis. OE can visualize results using various plot types such as heatmap, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and scatter plot. The implementation of Dynamic PCA provides an innovative way of combining PCA analysis with immediate user interaction.
How can I use Qlucore Omics Explorer on my Mac?
We recommend that you run a virtualization software. This will allow you to use Qlucore Omics Explorer on a Mac.
What is Dynamic PCA and how is it employed in Qlucore Omics Explorer?
Dynamic PCA is PCA analysis combined with instant user response. This combination provides an optimal way for a user to visualize and analyze a large dataset. It presents a comprehensive view of the data set at the same time as the user is given full freedom to explore all possible versions of the presented view.
What is PCA and how is it employed in Qlucore Omics Explorer?
PCA consists of projecting high dimensional data down to lower dimensions. The specific projections of the high-dimensional data are chosen in order to maintain as much variance as possible in the projected data set. In OE, data is projected and plotted on the two dimensional computer screen and then rotated manually or automatically and examined by the naked eye. The unique feature of OE is the ability to manipulate the different PCA-plots directly on the computer screen - interactively and in real-time - and at the same time work with all annotations and other links in a fully integrated way.
Can Qlucore Omics Explorer be used for data other than gene expression data, protein array and miRNA data?
Yes, that is possible. The user interface is optimized for biological data but it also works for other type of data sets. We welcome comments on which other data types you would like to work with. The generic input format makes it possible to organize your research data in a way that canbe inserted into the program easily .
What different types of license do you offer?
Qlucore Omics Explorer is licensed for an annual fee. During the license period, users are provided with free electronic support, and updates/upgrades are included. The shortest license period is one year.
We have a suite of licensing schemes for different type of organizations of various sizes, ranging from single user stand-alone licenses to floating multiple user licenses. Special licenses are also provided for Academia and there is also the possibility of classroom licenses.
How does the licensing model work?
We offer the following two licensing models:
- Single user, single computer licenses: A single user, single computer license gives one named user the right to use the software on one computer. The software will be locked to this computer. The license is valid for one year and includes support and upgrades.
- Network licenses: A network license allows a certain number of concurrent users on a local area network. Network licenses are also called flaoting licenses. Any person connected to the network can use the software, as long as the maximal number of concurrent users is not exceeded. Network licenses are available for five or more concurrent users. A user can also "check out" a license and use the software when not connected to the network.
